In the article “The Math Gender Gap: Nurture Trumps Nature,” Szalavitz (2011) says that people used to think that only nature was important for math performance in men and women. However, there was a new study to test if culture is important. Moshe Hoffman, a researcher went to India and tested the Karbi and Khasi tribes. They were both the same genetically but they have different cultures (Szalavitz, 2011). In the Karbi tribe, the men are more important than women, and women have 4 years less education. In the Khasi tribe, men and women have equal responsibility and education (Szalavitz, 2011). Moshe gave a math puzzle to the villagers, and he found that the Karbi men were 36% faster than women, but the Khasi men and women had equal speed for the puzzle. Karbi culture makes education a bad idea for women, and the Khasi culture sees that men are not responsible (Szalavitz, 2011). Khasi also have better hospitality, and they are really nice. Finally, some people think we need more or better tests for this nature and nurture issue, but Rebecca Goldin says that this study was good enough to prove that culture is actually important for math performance. Other studies said more equal education makes less of a gender gap. The number of women professors in the U.S. is growing. Maybe there is a nature reason for performance in math, but at this time, we don’t know for sure. We cannot conclude nature is not important (Szalavitz, 2011).In my opinion, the Math Gender Gap is same thing, but the different who study more or has exercises about it. I think we need more or better tests for this nature and nurture issue. Then, we will better in Math or any science. Also, I agree this test because it important for as and know who smarter.  

 

            In this article, “Man-Made Climatic Change Was Factor In 2012 Extreme Weather,” Lewis (2013) observed that a considerable amount of adverse weather events are caused by man-made change in climate. This research was as a result of some question that arises which needed to be answered. According to the research, using natural occurring factors such as surface temperatures of sea and changes in coming solar radiation causes adverse weather conditions. However, human activities are a major trigger phenomenon of these factors. They increase the rate of extreme weather events. Recent hurricane sandy was reported to have been caused by both factors. (Lewis, 2013) In recent years in United States, severe atmospheric condition have been experienced resulting in low yield crops, reduced livestock, a considerable increase in food prices and eventual death of humans. This disaster according to the report is caused by a lot of factors attributed to industrial activities, the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation is among a few to mention. These high temperatures due to heating have also been attributed to loss of ice in the arctic that is caused mostly by industrial activities. The scientists in the research hope to provide very useful information in order to manage adverse climatic conditions. They project that the earth’s average temperatures will rise between 2 and 12 degrees Fahrenheit in about 80 years. The effects of future climate change depend on the activities that produce greenhouse gas emission in the atmosphere, the intensity of temperature and the response to the emission (Lewis, 2013).

          

Happiness and Money

         There are many reasons that cause happiness. Money is one of the reasons for happiness, but it is not the only reason. According to the articleSix Things You Must Know About Money And Happiness by Amanda MacMillan, the author  reports that “there is definitely a correlation between income and of happiness ,but actually money buys less happiness than people assume “. Money is reason for happiness, but money cannot buy happiness. Money helps people to do things that bring happiness and assist people to enjoy their live. I believe that not every rich people are happy. I know some rich people who suicide that means money cannot buy happiness.  

         The other thing that causes happiness is paying money for others or the people you love. The studies show” people who had been asked to spend $5 on someone else felt better at the end of the day than those who’d been asked to spend it on themselves”, in the article Six Things You Must know About Money And Happiness by Amanda Macmillan. People who pay money to their love or family feel good and make them happy. In my experience, when I bought something to my family my parents or my son even other people, that make me happy.

Ebola Virus

       

        Ebola   in West Africa is a global epidemic and the world should take serious action before it will be too late to control the epidemic. In the article, Window to Stop Ebola Outbreak Is “Closing Quickly" Official Warns by Alexandra Sifferlin. He argues that closing contact with affected countries will not help to outbreak the Ebola. The international community have responsibility to control and contain it. Ebola killed a lot of people in West Africa such as Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Sifferlin reports that there are a lot patient lying on the ground in some clinic. That means the effected countries has very weak health care system. International community and global organization should take a quick decision to support these clinic and should create new portable hospital and send a group of doctors to treat the patient and help the afflicted countries because it is global problem. Each day passing will make the problem worse than before. The world health organization should have effective massive response to fight against the Ebola. I think the time is going not help West Africa countries the harder to stop the outbreak.
